Susie's in Japan for Cherry Blossoms!

 

I've wanted to see the famous Cherry Blossoms in Kyoto,
so I made the leap for this year of 2023.

After letting Dave know what I'd like to see,
he made up a fabulous Cherry Blossom tour for me.

AND so it begins....

Sunday, March 26

LAX to Haneda

Uber to LAX

Relax in the ANA Lounge for
a lunch of Mango Curry
a side of fruit and chocolate cake for dessert
with a glass of Merlot

Arriving in Haneda...
a long wait at immigration

**

Happy to see my boy after an 11 hour flight and
 an hour in the immigration line.

(It is now a very late Monday, March 27)

From the airport, I am dropped off at the Villa Fountain Hotel.

A restful evening for the days to come.

Tuesday, March 28 - On to Kyoto

First the Shinkansen

Leaving Tokyo

Comfortable seating

Kyoto Station
Looking for available lockers

Upon arrival we need to put our luggage

in a locker until we can check-in at 4.

There are no lockers available,

we look for a half hour, no luck.

While we are looking Dave gets a call

from Keiichi Okada...He's in Kyoto.

Keiichi and Tomoya pick us up and drop us off

at the Philosophers' Path.

Tomoya goes with us.

We get dropped off at our house...

After settling in

we walk to Tai Sushi along the river

Looks like going to the
"Midnight Diner"

Sushi!!!

Sashimi and braised scallops

There's still a line to
go into Tai Sushi

...then to Babbi

for Chocolate and Sakura Gelato

The Walk Home...

Wednesday, March 29 - Kyoto

View and bed in my tatami room

Yayoi joined us while I was asleep.

Dave and I go to Arashiyama and the Bamboo Forrest

Beyond the Forest, a lake and beautiful views of the Cherry Blossom Trees

Then we go for

a look at the Golden Temple

Kinkau-ji

Yayoi moves to the Ritz Carlton Kyoto

We move Yayoi and walk back to the Tatami House.

Now Kaiseki Dinner 

at TEMPURA NOBU

We are satisfied with beautiful and tasty food.

Thursday, March 30
