Week 4 - October 22-28

 Saturday, October 22

It's a beautiful day in Rivel.
Left windows open to let the fresh air in, the flies seemed to have come in too.
Having a laundry day - figuring out how to do the sheets - found a line in the section of the house on the other side of the courtyard. Small victories!

This grotto is
just across the street

This grotto is easy to pass by without notice.  I find it quite a lovely respite to remind one to stop for a minute to rest adn reflect.

Sunday, October 23

Another lazy day - just household chores, and sitting in the park and a walk through the sycamores of Rivel.

We try to do the trail up behind Ste. Cecile Eglise...

It's a lot steeper than we like...

Beautiful view and we're only half way up the trail.

Jo and Ian come over for wine and hors d'oeuvres.
Forgot to take a picture of Jo & Ian and the food, but we found out about Yoga here in town.
We will join on Monday at 6:30 pm in the hall at the end of the street.

Monday, October 24

We go to Chalabre for groceries and car charging.

Before shopping
Caffe Latte, please
at the Sports Bar

Now home for laundry

Yoga is in this building

After Yoga, dinner and John cleans up

Tuesday, October 25

I work on the Berteaux Family Tree -
Pretty much done with August Berteaux Jr, now just have 9 other of his brothers and sisters' families to do.

THEN...
The Bread Man came this afternoon!

Wednesday, October 26

We go to Le Moulin de L'Eveque
for lunch

Hamburgers!

What should we order...

Then that evening - Zoom with the Ancient Mariners!
(missing, Melinda, Jan and Candace)

Paula, Me
Christine and MarySue

Tom and Milt drop by to say "Hello"

Thursday, October 26

It's chilly outside so we turn on the pellet stove.

It's a pretty amazing heater!

It's cold but the view is still beautiful from almost any spot.

Today is spent getting ready to go to Toulouse - we have to show up in person to renew the monthly contract. We should do some shopping for Yoga mats and other things we can't get around here.

Friday, October 28

We're off to Toulouse - GPS says 1 hour and 40 minutes.  The way John drives it will be 2 hours 😛

And we're off...
Here we are behind a truck on A66

Yes, the Train Station where
Sixt car rental office is.

We go to Decathlon
for yoga mats

Back at the car
w/yoga mats

Quiche, Chicken Curry
Sandwich, Cookies and Bier

Now for some lunch!

We head home, much more traffic

We decide to charge up in Mirepoix, and shop at SuperU while waiting for an hour plus charge.
After an hour of shopping at the SuperU, we find out it didn't charge.
Soooo, we stop in Chalabre for an hour to charge - we hook up and go to the Sports Bar.

John has white wine
and I have Jack Daniels
with one ice cube

AFter 2 hours at the Sports Bar,
 it's dark and we start
for home.  We stop for a moment
to watch a Rugby match.

We've had an exhausting day, we need to return to Chalabre tomorrow.

So ends Week 4 in Rivel.
Back to Chalabre tomorrow to finish the charge and maybe have lunch.

Week 3 - October 15-21

Saturday, October 15

Beautiful weather, we just chill at home.
We are enjoying the house and neighborhood.

I sit and read on the Juliet balcony

John reads in the park at HIS bench

Our walk for the day

Sunday, October 16

We talk to Dave via messenger,
find out he won't be visiting us in Rivel
(but maybe in Pau) ðŸ˜‚

The artist reception at the Mairie

Then we walk up to the Eglise...

Scandius at Eglise Ste Cécile

-----

After attending the performance, I googled the group...

To see a video/conversation of this group - click on the video

https://www.scandicus.net/actualites/ or https://www.scandicus.net/ecouter

---

After the concert, we watch some Prime Video...

GOLIATH
(I think we will be binging this show)

Monday, October 17

It's the Mirepoix Market Day

Our goods from the Marché and
the SuperU

We meet a Danish couple, Eva and Knud Jensen,
at the charging station in Mirepoix.
We exchange emails.

Afternoon respite after
Mirepoix Marché

While John reads in the park, I Whatsapp with Christie Michel Diman
and then later with Anthony

Tuesday, October 18

Forgot some things for the week while in Mirepoix
and need to charge the car
so we make a trip to Chalabre

Lunch at Hotel de France

Note the horses tied up across the street.
The riders are eating on the porch of the Hotel

While waiting for our car to finish charging, we sit in the square...
then find bike rentals - maybe.

This might be an option, too.

---

John has gotten an email from Knud
- a light lunch and tour of Axat
- we accept the invite for Thursday

Wednesday, October 19

A nothing exciting day...

The best thing that happened...
Mohmed, our neighbor across the street, gave us these pears from a neighbor's tree.

Gave us 3, we already ate one - yummy.

Thursday, October 20

Problems with lights again.
Jo has to come by and help.
We turn off the electric heaters; lights back on
Jo shows us how to use the pellet stove

Wow! It works great!

---

Now off to Axat
A 30 minute drive, but fabulous views!

Once we get to Axat, Knud takes us to the Eglise
where one can view the whole village

After lunch we have coffee in their backyard

The drive home

What a lovely day.
Tour of another village.
Making new friends.
Beautiful 30 minute drive.

Friday, October 21

Nothing planned today.
Weather is meh!
It's blog day for me.

We make a quick trip to Chalabre for a few things and then we just hang out at home.

Weekend plans are minimal, if any.
Let's see what adventures we can create!

See you all next Week.
