Week 10 - Still enjoying ourselves...

Our sympathy and love
looking toward heaven

We decided not to go to Detroit.  Discovering that the place we wanted to reserve in Buenos Aires has already been rented, we put a deposit down on our second choice in Buenos Aires  – Detroit is not affordable at this time.  We send our love, sympathy and flowers instead.

Parc LaFontaine
Now, there's not much happening this week. just weekly/daily stuff.  We’ve had stormy rain and wind – lots of it, with intermittent humid heat. Between showers, we made afternoon and evening walks in the park and around the neighborhood.

John finishes a proposal for his book.
Now the search for publishers that might be interested begins.

Festival Mode and Design
One afternoon, I make a trip into the westside to McGill Bookstore to buy ink for the printer and then to DeSerres for another tube of ink for my prints.  After discovering the Festival Mode & Design on McGill College Ave. (which featured a runway fashion show in the middle of the avenue,) I start looking up and discover a new beauty to the street…

Another day, I make some cards from some of my proofs…

French class is full again, a few rejoin the class with much enthusiasm.  There is much laughter while we all stumble through our basic conversations.  After class, I observe how lovely even the bus stop can be in Montreal.

Macbeth in the park is in English! We walk to the Theatre de Vendure.  The stage is minimal but very effective.

The costumes are basic white shirts, dark pants and suit jackets (except for the “witches” who are men dressed in drag).  It’s a beautiful temperate evening with storm warnings – at intermission we are advised if lightning starts, the play will end.

...and the show begins
In the last scene, we feel a few drops begin (but no lightning, so we see it to the end). We hurry home, and make it just before the down pour begins for the rest of the night until sunrise. Just another lovely Montreal evening in Parc LaFontaine.
