We leave Rivel and start a new adventure in Pau
Sunday, November 27
The kids have gone, so we start the wind down to leave.
By noon, we have done some cleaning and now
it's time to walk to Moulin de L'Eveque,
There's a "Fayre" at the moulin - a fund raiser -
a white elephant sale, home baked goods
and the Moulin is selling "snacks."
A short walk to Moulin de L'Eveque |
We say our good-byes |
We are able to say Good bye to them, too.
Lots going on inside - a community fund raiser |
Walking home |
Monday, November 28

then a walk around Chalabre.
other linens and a load of clothes.

Our last Yoga Class with our teacher |
We say goodbye to our Yoga teacher and thank her
for such a nice experience.
Tuesday, November 29
We clean the house and do last bits of laundry.
A look into the clean floors |
Wednesday, November 30
A last look over the house and it's almost time to go.
- We will drop off our luggage at the hotel, hopefully get an early check-in.
- Then we will go to Toulouse, find a charger, charge the car, while it's charging, we will take a tour bus around Toulouse, go shopping, have a good meal.
- Go back to the hotel for a quick drink, shower or bath and bed.
(Sounds like a plan, doesn't it?)
Good-bye to the Marie |
Down through the sycamores |
The sign that tells us we are leaving |
We go by the "Antler House" |
Now by Arlette and Robert's renovation (the teal doors and shutters) |
On the road to Toulouse |
The best laid plans...
- We get to the hotel and they let us check-in early! YES!
- We go to Toulouse and try to find a charger...
We spent 3 hours driving, parking, walking around trying to find a charger that is working, available, and usable with our Chargemap card. You'd think, with all these chargers
we'd be able to find one to use. - With only 12% charge left, we turn in the car a day early because we can't find a charger that will work so we can get back to the hotel.
I have a J&B with ice with frites. Now I'm ready to eat. |
John has risotto and shrimp |
I have a Croque Monsieur |
Thursday, December 1
Breakfast and wait for taxi to Toulouse Gare Matabiau
11:37, we load up on the bus for Pau
(we are told it is pronounced like POOH)
Dominique and Reynald pick us up at the Gare de Pau
and take us to Rue Emile Garet.
The place is lovely!
Friday, December 2
Our first day, we go to HSBC to open a bank account
We filled out some forms, provided a utility bill and now wait for approval.
HSBC Pau |
At Starbucks for something familiar
Now for shopping...
Centre Bosquet and we get new jeans and new unmentionables
Saturday, December 3
We thought we'd do some wash and then walk to the TEMPO shopping center.
Then Christie called and we meet for "coffee" at Café de L'Europa for Irish Coffees.
We also have to meet Reynald to check the door and look at the shower hook at 3:00 (15:00)
No Tempo today.
Walk in the rain for dinner at You Sushi.
You Sushi |
Sake, edamame, French wine |
YouMix and Mikado Plate |
A nice finish to a nice day.

So ends Week 9
