Week 10 - Dec. 4-10

 

We begin settling in for a Pau Holiday Season

Sunday, December 4

We walk to Centre Tempo to check out H&M

It's Sunday, the Centre closes at 1:30 pm.  We get there at 1:27 pm. and are turned away.

We walk around -
movie theatre, fast food and nice restaurants are open.

We go to "Au Bureau" for a bite to eat.

A beautiful walk home. Autumn is in the air.

Maybe we can rent an apartment

At home, do the wash and take it to the Blue Wash for the dryer.
I bake a chicken and potatoes for dinner and the rest of the week.

Monday, December 5

We get up, dress, have coffee and walk into the town for errands.

Then to the Idelis office to get our bus passes.

On the way home, we stop at Zeemans to pick up some things.
Now we walk down the street to take the bus to Centre Tempo.

I buy some jeans at H&M
We have a snack lunch at the Centre

Spinach quiche and apple tart
with Orangina

We have a beautiful walk home and go by the bus stop

For dinner, we meet Christie and David at Le Boulevard.
We have to walk through the Place Clemenceau.

I think the City is readying for the Holidays!

Note: John's throat is a little sore.

Tuesday, December 6

We check out Le Halles

- we see wonderful poisson et produits

- we buy honey, veggies, raisin brioche

- we have cafè lattes and croissants

Stop at Zeemans, our new favorite store.
Then home to rest and check our emails, etc.

note: John is starting to cough

Wednesday, December 7

John sleeps in...all day

So, I meet Christie at the Speed Queen wash and dry.
We talk for 2 hours (or longer...)

I go to the Tourist Bureau for tour brochures, etc.

I got lots of good info for
Cini's visit

Note: I make John take a covid test - he's positive
Good thing he's isolated the last few days.

Thursday, December 8

It's wash day for us.  A couple of loads at home, then to Blue Wash to dry.

Highlight destination for the day.

Cynthia asks me to check her hotel to make sure they will be there for check-in. Yes they will be there, 'til 10:00 pm (22:00)
I make vegetable chicken soup for lunch and dinner.

That's all for today, folks.

Friday, December 9

John feels much better. No fever.
I give him a haircut, he showers and is a new man.
Today, towels, pajamas, pillow slips are washed and dried.

John and I go to Carrefour for supplies (and lunch)

Home to wait for Cynthia's arrival.

Around 6:30 (that's 1830) I meet Christie at the Cafè de L'Europe to wait for Cynthia 

Cynthia arrives, I meet her at the hotel 

We go to "Le Berry" for something to eat and conversation

Saturday, December 10

10:00 appointment at HSBC for French Bank account!

Then I meet Cynthia to walk around and show her the town.

John was sick and got well
We got some new clothes

Cynthia arrives
We're on our way to Christmas, too.
