Week 6 - November 5 to 11

It's WEEK 6!  We're 1/2 way through this French adventure!

Saturday, Nov. 5

A "do nothing day," except to do the wash.
It's cold in the courtyard,
so I hang the laundry in the bathroom.

Today, we take a walk through the woods...
"Les Bois de Mouiche"

View along the street - Ave Ste Cecile
or D120

Deep into the woods

At the end of the trail...
A great view of the village of Rivel

Sunday, Nov. 6

A visit to Espéraza's Dimanche Marché, then a trial run to Limoux to see how the road is to Rivel from Limoux.

We leave around 10:30 for the 1/2 hour drive to Espéraza

D12/D120 to Espéraza

Puivert Castle in view

Cows!

We run into Brian and Tina
 for Café au crema

Then on to Limoux for the trial run

We find the train station and the charging station in Limoux

Enjoying the River Aude before the drive home

D620 to Rivel

...and home

Monday, Nov. 7

It's the last of our bread!

So we go to Chalabre
for supplies

I've started a watercolor.
Looking at the photo, I realize I've taken some "artistic license"

---

And now for Yoga

Tuesday, Nov. 8

Today, we meet Tina and Brian for lunch in Rennes le Chateau
"Bistro des Amis"

After lunch, John and I walk around the Chateau and
the Church of St. Mary Magdalene
and try to feel the mystery of Berenger Sauniere

We then leave Rennes le Chateau

Pass the now familiar Chateau de Puivert

Now at home, looking
up the road

---

It's Tuesday, the breadman arrives

He leaves before I can get a
photo of him selling his bread.

Gone for another week

Wednesday, Nov. 9

We saw Laurence Bougeois at the breadman
and make an appointment for 10:30 to
buy one or more of her books

With Laurence Bourgeois and
Mirela Vasile who translated for us

---

Later in the day,
Jo came by and helped clean the floors and bathroom for us.

At 7:00 pm my time, I have a Zoom with my friends

Paula, me, Candace
Christine and Jan
Melinda was present, too, for a short while

Thursday, Nov. 10

Today, is a rest day
John has set up work in the extra bedroom and
I enjoy the Fountain across the sttreet.

John's "Study"

At 10 pm, my time, I have a meeting with
the PHS Reunion Committee and ReunionDB

Friday, Nov. 11

It's Armistice Day

Today we revisit the Bois de Mouiche
but start from the village.

And so we begin

The view of the village

Autumn leaves

We come to the end
of the trail to our street
(road D120)

Now back into town

The end of Week 6
We are halfway through this adventure.
Can't believe there's only 6 more weeks.
We are learning a lot about small
village life in the South of France.
