Chalabre charging station near the Carrefour Express |
The Carrefour Express is closed at 1 pm on Sundays, so we find the Sports Bar in town!
Rosé and chips for 2 hours while car charges. Not a bad way to spend the first day.
On the way home we encounter a sheep herd being moved
to higher ground.
We are told to be careful of the sheep dogs
darting around the herd.
Approaching home |
Getting home we hear the sheep bells. They are going up our road toward and past Ste. Cécile |
Monday, Oct.3
Need to fully charge the car.
Mirepoix has a charging station near the town square where there is a big open air market on Mondays.
There is also a SuperU for things we can't get at the Farmer's Market.
The charger across the round about from SuperU in the other direction the Farmer's Market |
Welcome to Mirepoix |
Places to eat |

Next we go home and check out the Église Sainte Cécile
We feast on our scavenging from the Farmer's Market.
Tuesday, Oct. 4
Jo comes by to meet us and make sure things are settling in. She and Ian will be gone until Sunday so they won't be available to help if needed. So far we are doing fine.
We need to go to Chalabre for a Carrefour Express visit. We need to see what they have and don't have and get things we didn't know we were missing at the first run to the store.
Wednesday, Oct. 5
Today I have to learn how to use the kitchen and how to use/do the laundry.
It's quite a luxury to have a dryer. |
We will be careful about using the dryer |
We walk to the Post Office to see if we can buy a baguette.
We have to preorder it for the next day. We order for tomorrow.
Exploring the surroundings...
Getting ready for Paté |
Going back home, we discover these bathes
Built in 1879 |
In pretty good shape for being over 100 years old? |
Thursday, Oct 6
It's a day to hang out. Nothing new - Got our baguette from the Post Office.
I dusted and straightened out the garage, so I could feel like the laundry would feel clean.
Met our neighbor across the street.
Friday, Oct. 7
Taking the advise of the kitchen chalk board.
Nothing planned.
This weekend we plan to see friends at the Dimanche Marché in Espéraza.
Can hardly wait!
