The “New” apartment…

 I can’t believe we live in this beautiful old hotel.  

It was a private residence in the 18th century but by 1813 it was turned into a hotel and was run as a hotel until 1974 in some form or another with many changes and reconstructuring inside.

By 1976 the building was divided into 3 sections with the north wing and south wing (which our apartment resides) being turned into apartments. The central portico was composed of three levels, one level being the “lobby” area. Aside from the lobby, the central portico has been remodeled into the office space of the Pau-Pyrénées urban community.
