National Parks,
the Navajo and Hopi Reservations
Starting in California to Nevada, Utah,
Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona
then back through Utah and Nevada to California
It's a Girls' trip -
I am traveling with childhood friends,
Meredith Phillips Lindley and Diane Phillips Hamlyn
along with Cynthia Matthews Villani.
June 5-13, 2023
AND SO IT BEGINS...
June 5, Monday
Packing up in Sacramento, 6:30 am from Diane's home.

A long 11-12 hour drive to Bryce Canyon Lodge |

We arrive around 7:30pm to Bryce Canyon Lodge |
We settle in our cabins, then dinner at the Lodge Dining Room.
Now to bed.

June 6, Tuesday

Then an enjoyable stop before our final destination for the day...

June 8, Thursday
Up at 6 am to go to Arches National Park!

June 9, Friday

We pack up and on to Mesa Verde |

June 10, Saturday
Before we leave
we go to
The Mesa Verde Visitor and Research Center

We drive by 4 corners.
These days, you have to pay $10 a person to be able to stand
on the 4 corners' plate
there are also food and trinkets available there
We chose to drive by...

We stop at Teec Nos Pas Trading Post to buy Navajo trinkets...(?)

June 11, Sunday
And now we are off for more trading post adventures...

At one of the craft shops we are told about ceremonial dances
with Kachina dancers further up Rte 264
We change into long pants for the ceremonial dancing |

We drive around the village to see what's happening.
We try to find parking near the gathering around the town center.

Now we move on to our next destination for the night
