Olivia Visits and A Thanksgiving in Pau, France

We get up and get ourselves on the bus to the Airport.

Entering the elevator

On the bus - We are near
the airport

We wait at the airport

It’s Olivia’s plane!

She’s here!

She sees us!

I think she’s happy to see Grandpa

We walk through the Beaumont Part to get “home”

The day is spent showing Olivia the city,
and our view.

The next day we walk into town and visit Christie and Dave.
They take us on a walk on their side of town,

She’s already going back…
We get up early, it’s foggy, we walk to the bus
to the airport.

We drop her off and are on our way home…

C’est la France…

(She arrives safely in Paris)

The next days are quiet, waiting for Thanksgiving.

Hmm, someone has slipped an envelope under our door.

We accept the invitation
from François and Patrick

François and Patrick

Wonderful treats

Patrick speaks little English and I little French so
John and François referred to us (Patrick and me)
to complete and explain things.

We had a wonderful time getting to know each other.
We are doing it again next week at our apartment.

It’s Thanksgiving today!

Having Thanksgiving with Christie and David.
(Forgot my camera, so no photos)

A day of fun conversation, laughter and
American football - College and NFL_-
before a dinner of
Turkey, dressing, potatoes mashed, yams mashed, green beans
Butternut squash, wine and…
Pumpkin Pie!

What we bring home.

Thankful for such a life

Not sure what’s up for next week…?

Sunday, November 19, 2023

November 11-17, 2023 - Susie’s 4th week in France.

The weekend starts out a little dreary.

Cloudy, rainy, can’t see the Pyrenees

So, for our walk out today, we prepare…

Now, where is that umbrella.

We get our daily baguette and start the walk back home.

We are almost home

***

Next day, the weather seems better, so we meet Christie and Dave at our new favorite place…BEANZ

BEANZ Martini
& pecan chocolate tart

David and John

Lifetime friends, even in France

We walk home with the threat of rain

The next day is glorious but I
forgot my phone when we went out.
We were going to get take out for dinner at our house
tonite with Christie and David  from O’Chicken Doré
because the website said they are open on Mondays
but they were closed…
“It is France…”

Closed today…

“Oh, what a beautiful mor r r r ning 🎶”

I look out the bedroom window

I am inspired!
I finish the Pyrenees, I think.
It needs something else…

Start on a new one.
It’s the trees warning us that winter’s on it’s way.

Just experimenting
for a final piece to come

Finishing the paintings and deciding it might be frame worthy.
(At least the tree)

“Winter is Coming”

In the evening, we meet Christie and David
at No Comment for Burgers, finally.

We got there early
And had drinks while waiting for C & D

Some photos for your viewing pleasure

It’s the end of the week, we get ready for the weekend
by going to L’ Halles for cheese, sausages.

It’s another gorgeous day,
we take advantage of a park bench.

Enjoying the views

We go home, go to the bread place for cookies
and stop at the Jardin by the church.
We got a tour of the Jardin today,
where all is grown in nature’s way.

No photos…yet. Maybe added later…

Now we get ready for Olivia’s visit for the weekend!
